APPRENTICE WAGE
RATES
JUNE 1, 2008 - MAY 31, 2009
2008-2009 Apprenticeship Classes - Register online or use the
Registration Form in the October
Union newsletter.
You must schedule your own classes. Remember, you need 160 hours
of Related Instruction per academic year (June 1 to May 31), for a
total of 400 hours over the course of your apprenticeship. Also,
please remember that work is NOT an excuse to miss your scheduled
class. If you are still working when your class is scheduled
please call the school and we will arrange for a replacement while
you are here at the school.
In the first year of your apprenticeship you must take the
following classes*:

CONSTRUCTION REGULATIONS (40 HRS.)

40-HOUR HAZMAT (40 HRS.)

BASIC EQUIPMENT (80 HRS.)
In your second year you must take:

MAINTENANCE (40 HRS.)

BASIC GRADE STAKING (40 HRS.)

CHOICE OF BASIC EARTHMOVING, BASIC EXCAVATING OR BASIC CRANE (80
HRS.)
In your third year you must take:
-
HYDRAULIC OR FRICTION CRANE, DOZER, MOTOR GRADER, ADV.
EXCAVATING, ETC.)

(80 HRS.)
You may take other classes in addition to those required during
your respective apprenticeship year but you must complete the
mandatory classes for each year.

VALLEY TECHNICAL COLLEGE FEES FOR
JUNE 1, 2008 - MAY 31, 2009 ARE AS FOLLOWS:
40 HOUR CLASSES - $102.00
80 HOUR CLASSES - $224.51
TRANSITION
TO TRAINER CLASS - $24.36
These fees are payable on the first day of class. Checks should be
made out to:
Wisconsin Operating Engineers SIAF.
