Wind Turbine Class Description

WIND TURBINE

40-hour instruction in the various processes and techniques used in the construction and erection of wind turbines.  The student will learn the advantages of using “green” tech- nologies to conserve limited resources as well as “what it takes” to erect a wind turbine.  This class will utilize the latest in simulation technology to perform “hands on”, operating a Manitowoc 2250 in full Maxer configuration, setting the individual tower sections, nacelle and rotor.
Limited enrollment.

*If you are not a Local 139 member and you have little (under two years) or no experience running heavy equipment, please click on the Apprenticeship for information. If you are an experienced operator who would like to join Local 139, please go to www.iuoe139.org for information.
