2010 Class Descriptions

HEAVY HIGHWAY

In this 2 week class you will be taught safe basic operation of scrapers and dozers (push cat). Basic push cat operating techniques. Common scraper operating tasks and how to perform them safely. How to identify areas of cut and fill. How to read basic grade stakes and perform the tasks they are directing you to do.

2nd year Registered Apprentice choice.

TIME: 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

OBJECTIVES:

Learn safe and effective use of scrapers and large dozers.

 

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

30 hours classroom

50 hours lab

80 hours Total Instruction

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
