Geo-Thermal Class Description

GEO-THERMAL

40-hour instruction in the process of horizontal geo-thermal construction.  The student will learn the advantages of using “green” technologies in heating, cooling, and power generation as well as performing “hands on”, laying out and digging the necessary excavation of a typical, horizontal geo-thermal, heating/cooling installation.  The class will use GPS technology for the layout and mini excavators and tractor loader backhoes for the excavations.

*If you are not a Local 139 member and you have little (under two years) or no experience running heavy equipment, please click on the Apprenticeship for information. If you are an experienced operator who would like to join Local 139, please go to www.iuoe139.org for information.
