2010 Class Descriptions

BASIC MAINTENANCE

This class will introduce students to basic mobile equipment maintenance. Student will be instructed in maintaining engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, lubricants and machine undercarriage with an emphasis on the use of the operator manual maintenance sections. Shop and field maintenance safety will be daily topics as well as proper use and identification of hand tools and shop tooling.

REQUIRED FOR REGISTERED APPRENTICES IN THEIR 2ND YEAR.                                      

TIME: 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

OBJECTIVES:

Basic understanding engines, hydraulics, lubrication and electrical systems.

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

20 hours classroom

20 hours lab

40 hours Total Instruction

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots, safety glasses and coveralls.
