Basic Excavating Class Description

BASIC EXCAVATING

Instruction will be given in safe basic operation of the skid steer, wheel loader, tractor loader backhoe, articulated haul vehicle and excavator. This class will also include how to work safely around utilities and teach you how to trench and excavate safely, implementing general industry standard practices and OSHA excavating and trenching regulations.

SECOND YEAR APPRENTICE CHOICE.

TIME: 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

OBJECTIVES:

Learn the safe and effective use of a wheel loader, tractor-loader-backhoe and skidsteer.

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

30 hours classroom

50 hours lab

80 hours Total Instruction

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
