2009 Class Descriptions

BASIC EQUIPMENT

This class will introduce the many different types of construction equipment that an operating engineer can be dispatched to operate.  Equipment jobsite functions and safety requirements will also be addressed.  Training in operator qualification (OQ), qualified crane assistant (QCA) and telescopic material handler/forklift operations.  Required for Registered Apprentices in their first year.

OBJECTIVES:

Learn safe and effective use of various pieces of construction equipment.

 

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

75 hours classroom

  5 hours lab

80 hours Total Instruction

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
