2010 Class Descriptions

BASIC CRANE

This class is an overview of basic craning with topics such as: terms and definitions, principles of operation, set-up, basic rigging, oiling and much more.  

2nd year Registered Apprentice choice.

TIME: 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

OBJECTIVES: Learn basic crane terminology, principles of operation, hand signals, maintenance, pre-shift inspection, setup, erecting (in proper sequence), reeving, and gain some experience in the seat of both lattice and telescopic type cranes.

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

30 hours classroom

50 hours lab

80 hours Total Instruction

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:  

Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
