2009 Class Descriptions

ADVANCED GRADE

This one week class will focus on working with GPS base stations, rovers and operating GPS equipped machines. With support from both Topcon (Positioning Solutions Co.) and Trimble (Fabco Equipment Inc.), we will be offering one week training classes specific to each individual product. You will be taught how to set up a base station and calibrate a site. Using the rover you will learn practical layout techniques of job sites and how to gather information to calculate job site quantities. Working with GPS equipped machines you will learn how operate these machines using indication only and fully automatic modes. You will be using these modes for rough grading and fine grading operations.  You must have extensive plan reading skills, average operating skills and some computer skill to fully enjoy this class.

TIME: 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.

OBJECTIVES:

Learn the latest technologies including GPS, and work with the software that goes with this technology.

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

20 hours classroom

20 hours lab

40 hours Total Instruction

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
