2009 Class Descriptions

ADVANCED CRANE WITH ATTACHMENTS

Students will learn the concepts of standing the hammer and leads, capping, driving piling, battering piling, driving and extracting sheeting using a vibratory driver/extractor, and drilling with conventional as well as hydraulic drilling machines. 

Prerequisite for this class: experience with friction cranes (for the piling and sheeting) and experience with hydraulic cranes (drilling with hydraulic machines).

OBJECTIVES: Learn the basics of pile driving, sheeting (with vibratory driver/extractor), and drilling (caissons). 

 

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

20 hours classroom

60 hours lab

120 hours Total Instruction

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hardhat, safety vest, work clothes, work boots.
