ABOUT WOE MISSION STATEMENT WISCONSIN OPERATING ENGINEERS SKILL IMPROVEMENT AND APPRENTICESHIP FUND in conjunction with the following organizations administers the oldest and most widely recognized apprenticeship program in the State of Wisconsin for Operating Engineers:
In addition to training apprentices, we offer continuing education to journeyworkers to keep their skills up-to-date and learn new and innovative methods. Saftey is the watch word at all times. The training center is located on 380 acres near Coloma, Wisconsin in Waushara County. In addition to the Administration and Training building, there is a classroom building and a shop. Skill Improvement training is conducted year-round with the bulk of the training during the winter months - January through March. Apprenticeship training takes place from October to December and April to May with some classes running concurrent with the Skill Improvement Classes. Random training, performance testing and summer classes take place from June to October. TELESCOPIC MATERIAL HANDLER/FORKLIFT safety classes are scheduled many times throughout the year. NCCCO (National Crane Certification) classes and testing are conducted quarterly. OSHA 500, MSHA, and HAZMAT courses normally take place during the winter months with occasional classes on an as-needed basis.
