2009 Class Descriptions

40 HOUR HAZMAT

The state continues to allocate money to the remediate brownfields and at least one of our power plants is up for decommissioning. The HAZMAT certification will be important for these jobs as well as any DOT work that involves petroleum contaminated soils.

REQUIRED FOR APPRENTICES IN THEIR FIRST YEAR.

Must be renewed every year.

OBJECTIVES:

To train in the four levels of protection used on Hazmat jobs along with State and Federal regulations and comprehensive practical exercises.

 

THIS CLASS CONSISTS OF:

 8 hours of Lab

32 hours classroom

40 hours Total Instruction

 

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

Hardhat, work clothes, work boots.
